Why This Exists

APCNZ is committed to fair, respectful, and transparent resolution of concerns. The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 requires societies to include dispute resolution procedures in their constitution, and these processes should reflect natural justice.

Incorporated Societies

Disputes Covered

APCNZ provides procedures for resolving:

Disputes between members

Disputes between a member and APCNZ

Complaints involving officers or conduct (where applicable)

Core Process (Public Summary)

Early resolution: we encourage direct, respectful engagement first where appropriate.

Written complaint: complaints can be lodged in writing with sufficient detail.

Fair consideration: the respondent is informed and given a reasonable opportunity to be heard.

Decision and reasons: APCNZ provides an outcome and reasons, and identifies any review/appeal pathway under the Constitution.

Records: appropriate records are kept in line with governance requirements.

(Detailed procedures are set out in the APCNZ Constitution and related policies.)
